When I get visitors to my aviary one of the most common questions I get is how do
you keep the birds so healthy looking with such vibrant colors?  The answer is
simple.  You have to give them the foods they need to get all their proteins, vitamins,
and minerals.  There are 2 different ways to do this.

The first would be giving a continued variety of different foods everyday as well as a
staple like seed.  They would need greens, eggs, soft foods, corn, cucumbers, bugs
   etc.

The problem with this method is that most people will not commit the time to be-
come  a gourmet chef for their birds everyday.  I don’t blame them.  I also would
have a hard time finding the time to prepare all their foods this way everyday

This brings us to the second way.  Supplements.  If you want your birds healthy and
to have the vibrant colors we have come to expect and appreciate from the Goul-
dians and other finches we have to give them supplements.

Having breed birds and being lazy for over 10 years now I have tried many different
brands of vitamin and mineral supplements that claim all kinds of terrific results.
Most sound great until you use them just to find out there is no noticeable difference
from the time you started until you have used up the entire bottle of what you bought!

After being disappointed many times I tried yet another product this time from
Morning Bird.  I started using their Miracle Meal on a somewhat regular basis.  I
didn’t notice any miracle results right away,
but after maybe 5-6 weeks I did start seeing
better color and a fuller, plumper bird.
